Talk given on addictions

BICHOLIM: Sakhali Primary Health Centre (PHC) doctor Gaurish Ganjekar has called upon the youngsters to stay away from all types of addictions.

He was delivering a lecture on evil effects of addictions to the students of Vijayanand Higher Secondary School, Tikhazan-Mayem. The programme was organised by Vir Sawarkar Yuwa Manch (VSYM) from Tikhazan-Mayem. Dr Ganjekar also demonstrated the ill effects of addictions by a video screening. Principal Sibbal Fernandez also guided the students.

Earlier, the VSYM president explained the motive behind forming the association.

Devanand Ghadi, Navnath Naik, Nitin Kinalkar, Nandkumar Turi, Pradhumna Gaonkar, Siddhesh Parmekar, Vinod Mandrekar and Ramkrishna Dangi were coordinators for the programme.

Prashant Pednekar compered the programme, while Sujata Kamat proposed the vote of thanks.

Cardio camp held at PondaPONDA: Generation Next in association with Manipal Hospitals organised a free heart check-up camp at Kids Nest, Ponda on Sunday. More than 75 patients attended the camp which was inaugurated by Dr Ketan Bhatikar, general secretary of Indian Association of Physiotherapist.
