Saligao MLA Kedar Naik has described teachers as role models who play a pivotal role in shaping students’ academic, personal and social development. “A Guru is not only a teacher but an educator who guides students to achieve their goals in life. Hence, teachers should be respected by one and all,” said Naik.
He was speaking at a function organised by the Pilerne-Marra Panchayat at the panchayat hall on Guru Pournima to felicitate retired teachers of Pilerne and Marra. Those present on this occasion were Zilla Parishad member Sandeep Bandodkar, Pilerne-Marra Sarpanch Reshma Bandodkar, Dy Sarpanch Ajay Govekar and panchayat members.
Naik further mentioned that a teacher’s guidance is important for personal growth and the success of the individual. “Through effective teaching, they inspire students to reach their full potential. The Pilerne-Marra Panchayat deserves appreciation for felicitating the teachers and honouring their valuable role in society,” said Naik.
Earlier in his welcome address, Dy Sarpanch Ajay Govekar stated that teachers deserve appreciation as they shape the future of students.
ZP member Sandeep Bandodkar also spoke on the occasion. Retired teachers and the music teachers were felicitated with a shawl, memento and a certificate of appreciation.
Karan Govekar later proposed the vote of thanks, while Prasad Kalangutkar compered the function.
