Teachers feted at Canacona
CANACONA: Canacona Lions club observed Techers Day by felicitating three teachers on Saturday.
Lions Club of Canacona organised its annual Teacher's Day programme at St Sebastian High School, Loliem, where three teachers including St Sebastian HS Headmistress Sr Ida Lobo were felicitated.
S S Angle HSS Maxem teacher Chandraleka Mestri and Government Primary School teacher Arjun Gaonkar were the other two teachers felicitated by chief guest Shradhanand Dnyanprasarak Sanstha chairman Arun Bhat and Lions District Region chairperson Mario Fernandes.
Bhat lauded the services rendered by teachers and made a fervent appeal especially to Loliem villagers to welcome the proposed IIT campus in Loliem with open arms. LC Canacona president Arun Sagun Bhat welcomed while Loliem Polem Sarpanch Bhushan Prabhugaonkar also spoke.
Motesin Fernandes, Anand Naik, Dr Villas Pawaskar, Lawrence Barretto, Ulhas Phaldesai, B Fernandes and Valerian Vegas were present.
Manuel Martins compered the function, while Lions secretary R P Bhat proposed the vote of thanks.
