South Western Railway (SWR) has announced the temporary cancellation of passenger train services between Vasco and Kulem in view of ongoing track-doubling works.
The cancellation has been necessitated by infrastructure works at Sancoale Yard, where Through Sleeper Renewal (TSR) works will be undertaken to facilitate the track-doubling project. To ensure the works are carried out safely and efficiently, SWR has imposed temporary line blocks on the section.
Accordingly, the following DEMU Special services will remain fully cancelled for 26 days, from September 9 to October 4, 2026.
Train No 56964 Vasco DEMU Special, scheduled to commence its journey from September 9 to October 4, will remain cancelled.
Similarly, Train No 56963 Kulem–Vasco DEMU Special, scheduled to commence its journey from September 9 to October 4, will also remain cancelled.
The temporary suspension is aimed at facilitating the completion of the sleeper renewal and associated track-doubling works at Sancoale Yard. Passengers travelling on the Vasco–Kulem route have been advised to take note of the cancellation and make alternative travel arrangements during the period.
