Twenty three higher secondary schools across the State managed to secure a pass percentage of 95 per cent and more, of which three managed to secure 100 per cent pass percentage. However, none of these are government-run higher secondary schools.
Interestingly, 17 of these had featured in last year’s list of higher secondary schools which secured a pass percentage of more than 95 per cent.
While two of the HSS - St Xavier’s HSS, Mapusa and Rosary HSS, Navelim had sponsored more than 700 students, four schools have sponsored less than 100 students.
Speaking to media persons, Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education J R Rebello said, “We have a system for the last few years wherein we list the schools which score over 95 per cent pass percentage. That list appears to be the same every year except two or three HSS. It looks like these schools have been consistent in their performance over the years.”
