TN native held for stealing cash

OLD GOA: Old Goa police arrested a 75-year-old native of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on charges of stealing cash of about Rs 5,800 from the Basilica of Bom Jesus at Old Goa.

According to Old Goa Police, Fr Savio Barreto, Rector of Basilica of Bom Jesus Old Goa, complained that on four occasions from May 29 to 30, some persons stole cash of about Rs 5,800 from the side entrance of Basilica of Bom Jesus, Old Goa.

Police further said the accused, John Louis J has been arrested and the stolen property recovered from his possession. Police is investigating the case.
