CANACONA

A trailer-carrier transporting four new cars for delivery to a showroom in Goa fell off the NH-66 road at Barcem, Quepem on Friday evening.

All four cars are believed to have been damaged, as the carrier vehicle also suffered serious damage to its axle and brake liners snapped after the carrier veered off the narrow NH66 road a few meters from the Karmalghat at Barcem (Padi) side.

The driver, who identified himself as Tausif, stated that he moved the vehicle slightly to the left to make room for an oncoming heavy vehicle.

However, the trailer-carrier fell into a roadside ditch and overturned before landing in the fields below. The trailer-carrier itself sustained significant mechanical damage, including a broken axle and snapped brake pads.

The carrier, coming from Karnataka, was reportedly transporting four new cars to be delivered to a showroom in Goa, and all four cars reportedly sustained unknown damages.

According to the driver, driving on the narrow NH66 road, especially in the Goa section, is becoming increasingly difficult and dangerous for vehicles, particularly heavy ones.
