The rescue operation began around 12 pm after a local resident alerted the lifesavers about the incident. Responding immediately, a jet ski was dispatched to the spot.
Drishti Marine lifesaver captain Sakaram, along with another lifesaver, rescued two fishermen from the water, while a third fisherman was safely assisted onto a nearby canoe.
All three fishermen were brought safely ashore and were reported to be in good condition.
The incident comes as Goa continues to experience the peak of the southwest monsoon, with strong winds, rough seas and turbulent waters making the coastline unsafe. Swimming remains prohibited on Goa's beaches during the monsoon season, while the annual fishing ban is also in force.
To enhance public safety during the monsoon, Drishti Marine has deployed over 450 trained lifesavers and beach marshals across major beaches, waterfalls and four inland water bodies in the state to respond quickly to emergencies and assist visitors.
