Two held for assault in Baga

MAPUSA: Calangute Police arrested two persons on charges of assaulting three persons in Baga on Friday.

Samrat Reddy from Maharashtra complained that he and his two friends were assaulted by accused Purvit Kumar and Vinesh Kumar from Himachal Pradesh with slaps, punches and kicks in a restaurant in Baga.

Acting on the complaint, police swung into action and arrested accused Purvit and Vinesh for unlawful assembly, rioting and causing voluntary hurt under Sections 323, 143 and 147 r/w 149 IPC. Calangute Police is investigating the case.
