Uprooted tree paralyses traffic for 3 hours
AGASSAIM: Traffic was held up along the road between Bambolim military camp and Curca for nearly three hours, after an old mango tree came crashing down at Bhati-Goa Velha on Friday.
Electricity poles were also damaged; fortunately no one was injured in the incident, fire officials said.
A fire brigade and a police team went to the site and cleared the fallen tree, before restoring traffic along the route.
Fire in-charge officer P A Kambli, R B Gawali, B B Manjle, C A Turi, C L Gaonkar and S P Kurdikar took part in the operations.
