The United Tribals Association Alliance (UTAA) has extended its full support to the Save Goa, Save Mahdei front and has called upon the people of Goa to leave behind their differences and unitedly join the Save Mhadei rally at Sanquelim on Monday evening.
In a message, UTAA Convenor Prakash Velip demanded that the Centre should respect the sentiments of the people of Goa and withdraw the DPR for the dams at Khalsa and Bhandura in Karnataka.
“Mhadei is our mother and all Goans should unitedly fight to save the river from being diverted to Karnataka. We already had a couple of meetings in Sattari and other places to spread awareness amongst the tribal population on Mhadei. We are having another meeting at Dharbandora on Sunday,” he said.
The UTAA Chief said he has requested the tribal population to join the Save Mhadei rally at Sanquelim on Monday at 4 pm in response to the call given by the Save Goa, Save Mhadei organisation.
