Acting on information from reliable sources, Goraksha activist Hanumant Parab had requested the Valpoi Police to patrol the Chorla road, failing which they would petition the chief secretary.
Following their request, Valpoi Police deployed a special patrol team led by PSI Chodankar and on Friday morning a vehicle was taken into custody along with the driver, Shbhuri Bashir Ahmad Desai from Ankali-Belagavi,
Valpoi PI Shivram Vaigankar said the vehicle was carrying beef without any authentic documentation. "The veterinary certificate that was found is suspicious as the location of the slaughter house is not mentioned," he said.
