The Directorate of Education (DoE) has directed all schools across Goa to play the National Song, Vande Mataram, before the National Anthem during Independence Day celebrations on August 15.
In a circular issued on Friday, the Directorate instructed educational institutions to strictly follow the prescribed protocol during the unfurling of the National Flag.
As per the directions, the National Song must be played before the National Anthem, while the Anthem should be rendered at the appropriate stage of the function.
The Directorate has enclosed the text of Vande Mataram with the circular for reference and instructed heads of all educational institutions to make the necessary arrangements to ensure compliance.
The circular has been addressed to heads of all government, government-aided and unaided schools in the State.
