Vanhamaostav celebrated at Galgibaga
PANAJI: St Anthony High School Galgibaga Canacona, celebrated Vanhamaostav on July 8. The chief guests were Dr Akshaya Kamat and Aniket Naik Gaonkar, Assistant Conservator of Forest, South Goa. They planted a sapling, followed by other faculty members.
The School Science Club and Eco Club were also inaugurated and a speech was given by a student on the importance of planting trees. A song dedicated to trees was presented by the students. Dr Kamat highlighted the importance of trees and their protection. She also discouraged the use of plastic bags. Gaonkar said that students should educate others on the importance of trees. Prakash Naik presented a multimedia presentation on tress and snakes.
Headmaster, Erwin Colaco, proposed the vote of thanks while Janis Fernandes and Eleuterio Carneiro coordinated the programme.
