VASCO
Cortalim MLA Anton Vas on Thursday hit out at critics and sought to know why he was being blamed for the double tracking when the entire project was almost complete in the other parts of the State.
Vas also accused some local leaders who had been defeated in various elections of trying to politicise the issue to revive their careers and misguide the people.
“The double tracking issue has been going on for several years now and there have been many MLAs who represented Cortalim but did nothing about it. But when I go for an inspection and come out with a solution to shift the tracks to save houses, I am targeted politically,” said Vas.
“I convened a meeting of affected people and even suggested a public hearing but these leaders tried to sabotage it by saying that they want no double tracking at all.”
Vas said he was also against the double tracking and coal pollution and insisted that he had never supported the cause.
