Several Vascokars were unhappy over the non-availability of fish on their platter on Sunday.
While the Vasco fish market remained closed for the day, fish was also not available at various other locations.
Many people who had arrived at the Vasco fish market from different locations had to return empty-handed or look for chicken and other red meat for their Sunday non-vegetarian quota as the fish was not available.
Sources said that all the fish vendors had on Sunday gone to Margao to attend the public hearing of the Coastal Zone Management Plan (CZMP) and the fish market was empty leaving many Vascokars away from their favourite fish curry rice.
