The Velsaopanchayat secretary tested negative for Covid infection, while the VelsaoPanchayat continued to remain closed for the second day on Tuesday as the results of other staff were awaited.
According to sources, the panchayat secretary had gone for a Covid test at the Chicalim Sub-district hospital and his result was negative.
It may be recalled that there had been public concerns after the VelsaoSarpanchHenriquesD’Mello had tested positive and many villagers wanted all panchayat staff along with the panchayat secretary to get tested and the Panchayat to be closed till the test results were made available.
While the Velsaopanchayat staff had gone for a test, villagers had insisted that the panchayat secretary, who manages two panchayats of Velsao and Cansaulim, also gets himself tested.
The panchayat secretary underwent the Covid test and has tested negative.
