Wall collapses at Salvador do Mundo

Family members had a lucky escape when the rear wall of a house collapsed at Torda in Salvador do Mundo in the wee hours of Monday.

The incident took place at about 3 am, when Ranganath Govind Naik and his family were asleep in the front portion of the house.

While the Naik family escaped unhurt, some furniture estimated to be worth about Rs 50,000 has been damaged.

Panchayat Talathi Veronica Rodrigues as well as local panch members visited the spot and inspected the site as soon as the incident was reported.
