Hundreds of litres of water was wasted due to a burst water pipeline on the service road at Peddem. It was a 110-mm diameter water pipeline which supplies water to homes and establishments in Peddem.
The incident took place at around 5 pm on Sunday. The pipeline burst under the service road in vicinity of Veggies restaurant near Peddem junction. It is suspected that the water channel burst due to the weight of vehicular traffic.
On getting information about the incident, the PWD, Water supply officials immediately turned off the water supply.
Meanwhile, officials informed that the repair work on this water pipeline will be taken up on Monday morning.
