PANAJI: The cross questioning of Goa’s state witness has brought to light discrepancies in Karnataka’s submission of documents to the Mhadei Water Dispute Tribunal, a consequence of which has resulted in Karnataka being warned in the future.
State witness Dr Jyothiprakash is in the process of being questioned by the Tribunal on the submission of his IIT report on the Water Yield Studies of the Mandovi River Basin that estimates the annual runoff of water from the basin to be 145 TMC.
Friday’s questioning has however raised the issue of a manual governing the number of rain gauge stations erected within the basin. According to a lawyer on the case, the Tribunal took strong exception to the misleading documents produced by Karnataka shown to the witness of state of Goa, Dr Jyothiprakash.
