WCF unveils CyberSmart portal for students in Goa

WNS (Holdings) Limited, a leading provider of global Business Process Management (BPM) services, through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm WNS Cares Foundation (WCF) announced the launch of CyberSmart  portal- Goa Chapter through a virtual session, organized in association with Responsible Netism. 

CyberSmart (cybersmart.wnscaresfoundation.org) is a holistic cyber safety learning ecosystem for education & empowerment of students, teachers, volunteers and parents, supported by NASSCOM.  

The virtual session was chaired by Santosh Amonkar, Director of Education, Government of Goa, Keshav R Murugesh, Group CEO, WNS, Shamini Murugesh, Honorary Chief Mentor, WNS Cares Foundation (WCF), Nagaraj Honnekeri, Director State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT), Dr Peter Castelino – Psychiatrist and President - Goa Psychiatrist Association and Peter Borges – President, Human Touch Foundation and Member, Goa State Commission for Protection of Child Rights. 

The webinar saw participants deliberating the issues pertaining to strategies aimed at mitigating cyber threats in the digital world.

Speaking at the launch Santosh Amonkar, Director of Education, Government of Goa said “Internet technology has impacted the lives of many since its inception. However, since the times have changed, it’s imperative for children to know the pros and cons of accessing the cyber world. Since children are learning to navigate the world, the internet masks these signals. This portal is in line with our mission to create safe cyber environment for the students and add this to our curriculum at the state level. I am delighted to be associated with the launch of CyberSmart portal for children and youth to spread awareness around cyber safety, which is the need of the hour”.
