Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho on Tuesday said he has plans to beautify areas around traffic signals in the Dabolim constituency.
“I have approved to offer the beautification of one traffic signal area to a private party who was a vendor with the National Highway on a pilot project basis and to replicate it with other traffic signals in Dabolim constituency if the project is successful,” said Godinho, during a joint inspection of the traffic signal near Chicalim panchayat along with officials of the National Highway and other departments.
"We have noticed that we have made road dividers and installed signals but the small gardens are not being maintained along the dividers.”
"We are in the process of beautifying the constituency and if this pilot project is successful, we will issue permission to replicate it across all traffic junctions in the constituency. We have finalised one model and we will use it across other junctions if it looks nice and beautiful after the work is completed," said Godinho.
