Women's role in Swachh Bharat underscored

PANAJI: The Governor Dr Mridula Sinha called for active participation of women in the national campaign of Swachh Bharat by stating that women have a significant role to play in the success of the mission. Dr Sinha was speaking at the meeting of women from across the State belonging to various self help groups, government offices, representatives of village panchayats, etc, at Raj Bhavan.

The meeting was held with an objective to interact and let the participating women know their role and make them understand their importance of involvement in Swacch Bharat abhiyan.

Dr Sinha stressed the need of creating greater awareness among women for taking ahead the mission.

Secretary to Governor, Shilpa Shinde and special secretary Dr N Radhakrishnan were also present.
