Water Resources Department (WRD) Minister Vinoda Paliencar on Sunday announced that the WRD will soon file a criminal case against Cuncolim MLA Clafacio Dias for allegedly encroaching on the property of Water Resources Department.
Speaking at the office inauguration of the Goa Forward party at Cuncolim on Sunday, Paliencar said that the Cuncolim MLA has been demanding his resignation for some time without rhyme or reason when he is allegedly involved in encroachment on the Water Resources Department land.
“I want to announce from this platform as the WRD Minister that the WRD officials will soon file a criminal case against the Cuncolim MLA in connection with the WRD land,” he asserted, while making a plea to the people of Cuncolim to rally behind Goa Forward party and Yuri Alemao to take Cuncolim Forward.
Paliencar, who also holds the Fisheries portfolio, said the government is committed to provide clean and safe fish for the people of Goa.
“Fish laced with formalin has been coming into the State for years. Only difference is that the present coalition government is committed to ensure safe and clean fish for Goans by setting up a regulatory mechanism,” he said.
