A youth football player from Collem died on the spot after his motorcycle rammed into a roadside electricity pole near Miriam Farm in Shigao-Collem on Tuesday evening.
According to the Collem Police, Aneesh Kujur (21) was proceeding from Shigao to Kule, when he lost control of the two-wheeler at Miriam Farm and his vehicle struck a roadside electricity pole. Kujur died on the spot.
The Collem Police later sent the body of Kujur for an autopsy at the South Goa District Hospital at Margao.
The news of his demise shocked people Collem as Kujur was well-known in the area and was a promising football player.
Collem Police Sub Inspector (PSI) Sadanan Desai conducted the panchanama under the guidance of Collem Police Inspector Sagun Sawant.
