CANACONA: A 26-year-old motorcycle rider from Navelim was seriously injured after he was knocked down by a jeep at Nagarcem-Canacona on Wednesday evening.
According to Canacona Police, the jeep (GA-10-T-0480) and the motorcycle (GA-08-J-8996) were proceeding from Chaudi towards Margao, when the jeep hit the rear end of the motorcycle. Due to the impact, the motorcycle rider Swaraj Pawar was thrown down, and the jeep went over his legs.
Pawar was rushed to CHC, from where he was shifted to Hospicio in Margao.
Police have registered a case for rash and negligent driving against the jeep driver and further investigation is in progress.
