After offering to start an oxygen generator plant at Chicalim Sub District Hospital, Zuari Agro Chemicals Limited (ZACL) has now offered to donate 50 oxygen cylinders costing Rs 5.6 lakh to five health centres in South Goa under its CSR activity.
ZACL Executive Director Nitin Kantak met South Goa Collector Ruchika Katyal on Thursday to discuss the donation of the oxygen cylinders.
When contacted, Kantak said ZACL is cognizant of the situation arising out of the pandemic in the South Goa District.
"A surge in the number of Covid-19 cases in the State has put the public healthcare system under stress, especially concerning the availability of sufficient oxygen needed for patients under treatment," said Kantak.
"As also advised by the district administration, the company is donating 50 oxygen cylinders for use at five government health centres in South District, Goa.”
“Each cylinder has a 7 cubic metre capacity. Ten cylinders each will be delivered to CHC Canacona, PHC Cansaulim, PHC Quepem, CHC Curchorem and PHC Sanguem.”
“The cylinders have been procured by the company at a price of Rs 5.6 lakh, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives," said Kantak.
