‘Need time to know Women and Child Development dept’

OLD GOA: The Women and Child Development Minister said starting from October 24, he has allotted four days for understanding each and every aspect of Women and Child Development department.
"From Tuesday, I am going to take up all issues and have allotted four days. I'll go through each and every aspect of women and child development. Till now I was busy with health, now I will take up Women and Child Development and a week after that Craftsmen and Training," he informed while speaking to the media on the sidelines of inaugural of renovated building of Apna Ghar.
"Meetings will be held with all the committees of Women and Child Development. I will sit with them, try to understand their issues, what problems they are facing and to what extent they are getting addressed," the minister stated while adding that he needs to first understand and have knowledge of all the issues before taking it to a higher level to resolve these issues.
"This portfolio is very sensitive, so I need to understand it properly. Also, the negativity that is built up has to be clarified and that can happen only when I understand all the issues," he stated.
On Apna Ghar, he informed that the director Deepak Dessai has been given a free hand to take whatever strict measures that are needed and to put in place whatever security arrangements needed.
"I am not going to leave it just like that. Every month there will be a review. I will sit down here, have meetings to understand what is happening and any small issue will be addressed immediately," he assured.
