Two persons were injured after the pickup they were travelling in rammed against a cement mixer on the Merces side of the Atal Setu bridge on Monday afternoon.
According to Old Goa police sources, the cement mixer vehicle was stationary when the pickup rammed against it from the rear.
“Upon impact, two persons in the pickup, alongside the driver, were injured with the leg of one person getting trapped. A 108 ambulance staff gave saline drips to the trapped person before his leg could be freed,” the source said.
Later, the two injured persons were shifted to the GMC hospital for treatment.
The police sources further informed that the pickup driver has claimed the accident took place due to break failure. Old Goa Head Constable Ismail Shaikh is further investigating the incident.
