Alarm in Mandur over suspicious death of pigs, p'yat urges caution

OLD GOA

Raising alarm over the deaths of a number of pigs in the village since the past several days, Azossim-Mandur sarpanch Prashant Naik has urged those rearing pigs to remain vigilant and provide details to the panchayat.

“Since the past several days, 15 pigs have died in the village. We do not know the cause behind the deaths but we have approached the veterinary doctors who will perform post-mortem on a dead pig to determine the cause,” Naik said.

He further urged those rearing the pigs to remain vigilant and approach the panchayat with details of the number of pigs so that the doctors could give advice on treating the pigs.

“At the moment, though, the doctors have informed that there is no danger to humans but the dead pigs need to be disposed off properly and hence we need assistance from the villagers,” Naik appealed.

He further urged those rearing pigs to approach the panchayat so that they could be advised on treating the pigs.
