Parish Priest of Our Lady of Snows Church, Raia, Fr Pedro Costa had made an appeal to the people of Raia to support the quarantine centre being set up by Fr Joaquim.
Following the appeal, ex-Curtorim Zilla Panchayat member Moreno Rebello handed over oximeters to Fr Pedro. Social worker Anthony Barbosa also handed over medicines to Fr Pedro to be used at the quarantine centre set up by Fr Joaquim. “When Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao gave a call to form village Covid teams, Fr Joaquim came to us and informed that he is setting up a quarantine centre. Immediately, we made an appeal to the people of Raia to help the quarantine centre,” he said.
While thanking Moreno Rebello and Anthony Barbosa for extending their help, Fr Pedro made a call to the people to come together to unitedly fight coronavirus.
Both Moreno and Anthony appealed to the people to donate generously towards the quarantine centre by leaving aside all their differences. Sarpanch Minguelina D’Sousa has also extended her support to the Parish Priest and the quarantine centre.
