The mishandling of the case of assault of the two Indian tourists in a Siolim night club earned the suspension of a cop on Tuesday.
Goa Police suspended Head Constable Jairam Mhamal for delay in taking action against the matter. Mhamal was incharge at the Siolim police outpost on the fateful day.
Sources informed that the two tourists, who had visited the police outpost early Sunday morning to file a complaint, were made to wait the entire first half as the police were dilly-dallying in filing the complaint
“The head constable had failed to inform the Anjuna PI about the case. Senior police officers came to know about the matter only when the news was flashed in the media,” the source said.
