The body of Abdul Rafiq, hailing from Bengaluru and the proprietor of a tourist software company, was discovered on Sunday afternoon after being reported missing since Thursday.
The Collem Police and Forest Department launched a search operation following Rafiq's disappearance.
The grim discovery was made in a secluded area near a waterfall, where Rafiq's body was found beneath a rock.
Upon locating the body, authorities conducted a panchnama and subsequently transported it to the hospital for post-mortem examination.
The exact cause of Rafiq's death remains undisclosed pending the results of the post-mortem investigation, scheduled for Monday.
