Siolim MLA Delilah Lobo has recognised the right of local residents to hold a candlelight morcha in protest against loud music but expressed her concerns about women participating in such events at night.
"Holding a morcha is their right. People should remain vigilant to see if any music is played tonight (August 14). If it continues, we will move to the High Court. We are here to send a clear message to the clubs and restaurants," Lobo stated.
Lobo's comments come as local residents prepare to stage a candlelight march on August 15, protesting the ongoing issue of loud music in the Anjuna-Vagator area.
While supporting the residents' right to protest, Lobo emphasised her preference that her women constituents avoid participating in morchas after dark.
