CM receives threat messages

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has received threatening and money extorting messages on mobile from an unknown person’s number. The sender in the message threatened the Chief Minister to kill him if the demand is not fulfilled.

The Chief Minister’s office has registered and FIR at Panaji police station. Panaji police said the sender has demanded money ranging from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 50 lakh.

A case has been registered under section 504, 506 (ii), 507 and 384 of IPC.

Meanwhile, after threats to the Chief Minister, Goa Forward Vice President Durgadas Kamat too received threatening messages from the same international number seeking ransom.

Kamat has lodged complaints with the Director General of Police.
