Labour Commissioner, who is the Commissioner for Employee’s Compensation, has issued a notice to the contractor and the Principal employer to submit to his court details under Section 10A of the Employee's Compensation Act, 1923 of the four labourers who were killed in the Verna accident.
In the notice, Martins stated the labourers have died as a result of an accident arising out of and in the course of their employment.
The details are required to be submitted to the Labour Court within 30 days of the receipt of the notice.
