Gold heist at Comba: Three West Bengal natives nabbed

The Margao police have arrested all the accused, all natives of West Bengal, in the Rs 72 lakh gold heist at Comba-Margao.

The police have also succeeded in recovering gold ornaments weighing approximately 205.281 grams, worth Rs 14,85,000, at the instance of the accused persons.

The three accused persons, Suprokash Mandal, Sanjoy Mondal, and Tapas Jana, all natives of West Bengal, were entrusted with the work of making gold ornaments from melted gold at the workplace of complainant Pritesh Lotlikar at Comba when they dishonestly misappropriated the gold, all weighing approximately 959 grams, worth Rs. 72 lakhs.

During the course of the investigation, police teams were formed for a meticulous and speedy investigation, with electronic and technical surveillance to trace and apprehend the accused persons in West Bengal.

SP South, Sunita Sawant, informed that all three accused persons were traced at Phultala area, Golbhati, North 24 Parganas, in the jurisdiction of Habra Police Station Area, Kolkata.

The accused have been remanded to five days' police custody.
