Italian booked for carrying GPS device at Dabolim airport

An Italian passenger was arrested on charges of carrying a prohibited GPS device in his hand baggage at Dabolim airport on Friday evening.

According to details, the incident took place at about 6 pm when the CISF Unit was screening baggage at the security hold area of the domestic terminal of Dabolim Airport.

The passenger Giacamo De Ferrari of Milano, Italy was in the process of boarding an Indigo flight from Goa to Chennai and thereafter from Chennai to Colombo.

The passenger was found carrying a GPS device in his baggage, which is prohibited to be carried in hand baggage. He had no permission from a competent authority to carry the device.

The GPS device was seized from his possession at Dabolim Airport and he was arrested in the case. Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Akanksh D. Fadte Dessai of the Dabolim Airport Police.
