The one-man Commission under former Bombay High Court judge, Justice V K Jadhav inspected as many as 15 properties across three villages in Bardez on Thursday, as he launched the much-awaited inquiry into the massive land scam in Goa.
Jadhav was assisted by Special Investigation Team’s (SIT) (Land Grab) Deputy Superintendent of Police Santosh Dessai and officials of concerned departments during the day-long inspection at Assagao, Anjuna and Calangute.
“We have inspected the properties. The Commission has sought for First Information Reports (FIRs) registered with the SIT and investigation details such as modus operandi of the accused involved in the fraud,” an official told The Goan.
The compiled information is expected to be submitted to Justice Jadhav this week as the Commission is expected to begin hearing into each of these cases on Monday.

Meanwhile, mastermind Muhhamad Suhail Shafi was arrested for the seventh time, soon after he walked out of jail on getting bail for the previous offense.
The Mapusa Court had granted him conditional bail for the sixth offense against him but hours later , the SIT arrested him in yet another land scam. “He has been remanded to four days of police custody for investigation. This is his seventh arrest,” Valsan said.
