The ongoing Assembly session is nothing more than a useless ‘balcaoncho gozali’ (balcony talk). In fact, Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar is acting in a biased manner. He is repeatedly heard saying ‘Bhosunn Gheat’ (sit down) to the opposition leaders and not allowing them to raise the serious issues concerning Goans. The misdeeds of the ruling party are being covered up.
The worse part is that he is seen purportedly allowing the ruling party leaders to even pass some controversial bills without having any serious discussions and ignoring all the objections raised by the opposition on the floor of the house.
If continuing the chaos is the new reality of the Assembly, then it is better to conserve the resources being spent on organising it. Not holding such one-sided discussions seems like the prudent thing to do. Hope better sense prevails.
