Man sustains pellet injuries, rushed to GMC

A person from Bendulem-Balli was rushed to the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim on Saturday after he sustained multiple pellet injuries on his body. Cuncolim police have confirmed the incident, but are investigating how the injured received the gun shots in his field.

A Cuncolim police team has gone to the GMC, Bambolim to record the statement of the injured, but he was not in a condition to give his statement.

Police said preliminary inquiries have revealed that the injured had reportedly gone to his field when the incident occurred. Police are investigating whether the gun carried by the injured accidently fired or otherwise.

Sources informed that the injured has sustained a major wound on his thigh. He has also sustained pellet wounds on his chest. “We are waiting for the injured to recover in order to record his statement on the incident,” informed a senior police officer.
