Saying that a job scam is difficult to take place, Environment Minister Aleixo Sequeira has said many times these types of issues are created which may not be true.

In fact, Sequeira pointed out that he had provided around 1,200 jobs to the unemployed youth during his previous stint as Minister and dared anyone to prove that he had demanded even a paisa from the beneficiaries.

Citing an instance, the Minister said a person had come to him with a claim that someone had asked for a bribe of Rs 30 lakh to provide a job to his daughter in the health services. “Since I knew the family personally, I was confident she would get the job. Ultimately, she got the job without paying any money to anyone and is happily working. Many times, these types of issues are created, and they may not be true,” he added.

Reminding that he had provided around 1,200 jobs during his previous stint as Minister, Sequeira threw a challenge for anyone to prove that he had accepted even a paisa from the job seekers. “There may be people who had taken money in my name, but I got these persons to return the money after it was brought to my notice,” he said.

Old Goa Exposition: Min says govt will deliver on promises
Environment Minister Aleixo Sequeira on Friday said the government will deliver on time all the commitments regarding the ensuing exposition of the relics of St Francis Xavier.

Briefing the media, the Salcete's lone Minister said works have been progressing at the site, though they were delayed by the monsoons. “We are trying to make up for the delay caused by the monsoons. I believe we will achieve our target and get everything ready by November 10. Since there has been a slight delay caused by the monsoons, the works may continue until November 16,” he said.

Sequeira, however, hastened to add that the government will deliver on all the commitments concerning the exposition. “Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is very particular. He wants to ensure that whatever commitments he has made are delivered on time,” he added.
