A road accident involving a two-wheeler and a four-wheeler near the Margao-Khareband two-wheeler bridge junction on Saturday has again brought to the fore the absence of traffic regulation when the road users comprise of school and college students and parents.
While the two-wheeler rider escaped with minor injuries, the incident has brought to the fore the risk of accidents faced by the two-wheelers at the junction.
Two-wheeler riders pointed out there are no rumbler sticks of speed breakers to control the speed of four-wheelers coming towards the junction from the La Flor side or via the Comba ring road.
That’s not all. Though the presence of a fruit vendor and a sugarcane vendor right at the junction is posing traffic problems, the MMC has turned a blind eye to the illegal vending at the junction, posing risks to motorists.
