Mumbai man held with charas at Arambol

Pernem police arrested a 42-year-old man from Mumbai on charges of illegal possession of charas valued at Rs 15,000 at Arambol on Wednesday.

According to Pernem Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi, police received information that a person is involved in drug activities at Arambol.

A police team traced the accused, Ali Shah Shaikh, at a parking place and conducted a surprise raid, where they found charas valued at Rs 15,000 in his possession. The accused was arrested under the NDPS Act.

The raid was conducted by PI Dalvi and the team consisted of PSI Harish Vaingankar, constables Anishkumar Poke, Ravi Mahloji, Kundan Gaonkar, Devidas Malkar and Jeevan Govekar.

Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of SDPO Gajanan Prabhudessai and SP North Utkrisht Prasoon.
