Nepali man killed in hit and run case at Porvorim

A pedestrian died in a hit and run road mishap near Neo Majestic Hotel in Porvorim early Monday morning.

Porvorim police said Tapta Bahadur Rawal (31) of Nepal but residing at Santa Cruz was walking by the roadside, when he was knocked down by a vehicle proceeding towards Mapusa at about 6.30 am on Monday. The vehicle fled from the site.

The injured pedestrian was later admitted to GMC hospital at Bambolim for treatment but was declared dead by doctors on duty.

Porvorim police have registered an offence under Sections 270, 304(A) of IPC and Section d1345 (A) of Motor Vehicles Act against the unidentified driver and PSI Pramila Fernandes is investigating the case.
