Nigerian held in drug raid in Calangute

The Calangute Police on Tuesday arrested a Nigerian for allegedly possessing narcotic substances worth Rs 1.40 lakh.

Acting on specific information, a Calangute Police team in the wee hours of Tuesday conducted a raid and apprehended Lucky Ekoemeye (40), a resident of Calangute and native of Nigeria, for illegal possession of 14 grams of suspected MDMA worth Rs 1.40 lakh.

An offence has been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act 1985.

Police informed that the narcotic substance has been attached under panchanama.

The accused was also arrested by Anjuna Police and Crime branch earlier under the narcotics act.
