Encourage students to take part in Read India 2022: DHE

In a circular to all government and government aided colleges in Goa, the Directorate of Higher Education (Goa) has instructed the principals of these educational institutions to inform and encourage their students to actively participate in Read India Celebration 2022 launched recently in the State by the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant.

Read India Celebrations (RIC) is a transformative, non-academic reading, problem-solving and leadership initiative for school and college (degree and postgraduate) students. Read India Celebrations is an attempt to create a reading culture by engaging students and citizens to read, think (find solutions to problems, come up with ideas for better living) and ACT (experiment with implementation).

Read, think, act is a simple process for success and when saying read, it means reading diverse non-academic books, self, and situations. The students can participate in three simple steps and register online for RIC2022. 

To participate in the programme one has to register on www.readindia.info and after reading a book, story, article or research a topic/theme from among the 25 plus topics and submit two A 4 size pages and video as below. 

Page one should be learning/ findings from the book/story/ research topic along with page two having one idea, solution to solve any problem of participant’s choice (upload PDF/Word/Picture of a written document from participant’s dashboard. Also, the participant must submit a one-two minutes video summary about the book/story/research topic or the problem and the solution.

The participants are free to read any book, story, scenario, situation, thing, place or article of their own choice. The last date for registration is August 15, last date of submission is August 30, round one evaluation will be during September and October, round two screening will be in November and grand finale will be in December.
