The Additional Director of Panchayats (ADP) on Wednesday slated the next hearing in the Old Goa structure issue case for arguments on the intervention pleas of three intervenors.
The arguments will be heard on July 21 even as the three intervenors Save Old Goa Action Committee (SOGAC), Adv Amit Palekar and Golda Almeida & others filed their replies to the objections raised by the counsel of the owners of the structure.
Meanwhile, SOGAC has petitioned various opposition MLAs to ask starred questions on the issue to the TCP minister on July 13 and to the Panchayats minister on July 14.
SOGAC has drafted three questions to be put to the TCP minister, including one which seeks to know the number of members of the conservation committee who continue to serve as members despite giving incorrect advice to the department as far as the controversial Old Goa structure is concerned.
The second question seeks to know the time period it will take to update the RP and ODPs showing all heritage sites and their buffer zones.
The last question is related to the steps that will be taken by the TCP department to ensure that such frauds are avoided in the future.
As for the Panchayats Minister, the first question seeks information on such cases, in the past ten years, where structures continue to stand tall despite demolition orders issued under Section 66 of the Goa Panchayati Raj Act.
The second question seeks details on the status of all appeals against orders passed under Section 66 of the GPR Act, in the last 10 years. It also seeks to know the average time for disposal of such appeals by the ADP.
Finally, SOGAC wants the MLAs to question the panchayats minister on the reasons for repeated adjournment of the Old Goa case despite its gravity and also the reason for ADP not providing frequent hearings.
