The stage is set for the celebration of the famous Zambaulim Gulal on March 25.
Members of the Margao-based Mathagramasth Hindu Sabha carried the “sacred coconut” from Margao to Zambaulim on Thursday as part of the rich tradition followed over the last 500 years.
Addressing the media before the sacred coconut was taken to Zambaulim from Comba-Margao, the President of Mathagramasth Hindu Sabha, Bhai Naik, informed that the Sabha has been organising and celebrating the Zambaulim Gulal for the last 115 years. He said the Sabha has organised a number of programmes in the run-up to the Zambaulim Gulal on March 25.
Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai, who participated in the programme of carrying the sacred coconut from Comba to Zambaulim, extended his support to the Mathagramasth Hindu Sabha for the smooth conduct of the Zambaulim Gulal on March 25.
