The Supreme Court on Monday heard the petition filed by Chowgule and Co and other erstwhile mining leaseholders who had approached the Court for an extension in time for carry off the already mined ore that was lying around at various locations along the path from the mine to the port.
The SC Bench led by Chief Justice S A Bobde, A S Bopanna and V Ramasubramanian reserved the matter for orders after hearing arguments for around half an hour.
The miners have sought more time citing the pandemic saying on account of the lockdown they were unable to conclude what they had set out to do.
